White Shirt, Black Shirt
T-shirts
are something I wear every single day. Now, while I mostly don shirts
from rock bands, mixed martial arts clothing companies, childhood
shows/movies and the likes, I love wearing plain t-shirts a lot. I
mostly wear these plain shirts when hanging out with my friends,
under a sweater or dress shirt, and sometimes when I workout or work
construction. I was only accustomed to white t-shirts for the high
majority of my life, however, until roughly 2 years ago when I was
introduced to black t-shirts. Then the debate began: which colored
shirt do I prefer?
The original white shirts have some
nice features. First off, I can wear them with black jeans and look
like quite the badass in the process, while I can’t really do that
with the black shirt (it’s too dark of a look for some people,
though I actually still tend to enjoy it). When I work construction,
I most often work in the warmer weather, and a lighter colored shirt
keeps me slightly cooler. Sweat and dirt are more obvious with the
white shirt, but when working construction, I used that to my
advantage as it showed just how hard I was working. Ladies found me
quite sexy when they walked by our construction site as I wiped the
sweat from my forehead and smiled at them with a nod (with my helmet
in hand when the jobsite required it). Sometimes I even took a deep
chug of my Pepsi while the sweat dripped from my brow, dirty yet
manly, with the sun blazing down on my hardworking body (it drove the
women CRAZY for some reason... I surely belong in a Pepsi
commercial).
The black shirts bring out my hypnotic,
blue eyes more so than the white shirts, which the ladies seem to
enjoy. Obviously dirt doesn’t show up on them as much, nor does
sweat, which is more convenient when I’m just hangin’ out with
friends or going out. When wearing blue jeans with the black shirt I
come off almost as a greaser from back in the day (or could at
least), which is somewhat humorous to me. The best part of the black
shirt is that, when I wear it with my jeans and am in my relaxed
mood, I look like a Calvin Klein model (minus the good looks and
muscles... so maybe I don’t look like one at all, only in my own
mind?). On top of that, black is my favorite color, so that’s
obviously a big plus in my book.
So, which shirt color
do I prefer? While I’d like to say it’s a push, I have to admit
that I tend to lean towards wearing black t-shirts over white ones. I
don’t mind wearing all black, I like to use my one strength (my
big, blue eyes) to my advantage (which black apparently brings out
more), and I just feel a bit more comfortable in black for some
reason. While most people only see the crazy, goofy side of me, I
have a very serious, relaxed side as well, and when I wear black I
feel as if I allow that part of me out more. I continue to wear both
shirt colors, but when I need to make a choice, I say black shirts
all the way... that’s just how I roll.
